IRUS has a mission to train men and women to become approved workers who do not need to be ashamed and correctly handle the Word of Truth. In pursuing this goal, we seek to instill in our students, faculty, and staff a commitment to biblical justice and a Christ-like, loving community culture. We firmly reject intolerance and inequality based on cultural background, national origin, race, language, denomination, gender, and social class, and instead strive for diversity and equity that are grounded in the Bible (Ephesians 2:14-15; Psalms 82:3-4).

Our commitment is founded on the belief that God desires a community that reflects the character of Christ, characterized by mutual support and love, and a willingness to respect differences.

All human beings are created in the image of God and therefore possess inherent dignity. God also allows and embraces diversity in His creation (Revelation. 5:9-10; 7:9). In order to advance the gospel, the early church transcended national borders, races, languages, social statuses, classes, and distinctions of gender and age (Acts 8:4–8, 26–40, 10:1-48, 16:6-15). This is reflected in the gospel command of the Acts of the Apostles, where people of various cultures are called to be witnesses led by the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8). Loving God and loving one's neighbor are inseparable and form the foundation of biblical justice. As such, we are commanded to respect the rights, dignity, and worth of all individuals, recognizing that people of all races, tribes, and nations are created by God and redeemed by Jesus Christ to live in harmony with one another (Romans. 12:10, 16). IRUS plays a crucial role in upholding the truth, countering the prevalent trend of viewing diversity through a non-biblical lens (Romans. 12:2), and fostering a respectful community grounded in the Bible and defined by Christ's agape love, where people of diverse cultures can coexist harmoniously.

IRUS is committed to pursuing diversity in the following ways:

• Learning Communities: IRUS aims to equip students with the skills to understand and effectively engage with the diverse similarities and differences that exist within multicultural and multiethnic areas in various disciplines, preparing them for impactful ministry in a global environment (Proverbs 31:8-9). Discrimination, prejudice, and exclusion are strictly prohibited in class to create a safe and inclusive atmosphere where students can freely discuss and learn to respect different perspectives while discovering commonalities. Additionally, students will gain the ability to address issues of diversity from a Reformed theological perspective.

• Campus Community: The school strives to exemplify IRUS' core values by embracing students from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and providing support for those with varying physical and emotional abilities and needs. As a Christian university, the school is committed to biblical justice, and if prejudice or exclusion occurs, it will follow the example of the early church in Acts 6:1-7 and 15:1-35, working to reconcile conflicting communities. Through a community united by love, in imitation of Christ, the school seeks to demonstrate the wisdom of God.
